    Steven exceeded my expectations when he removed a 30+year old Lopi stove. The stove is large and heavy. He methodically pulled it out of my fireplace, tied and lifted it, and wheeled it onto his truck. All safety measures followed. My floors and doors were protected. All surfaces and fireplace were vacuumed. He is pleasant and professional. His fee was more than fair. I fully recommend his services.

    Steven came by as promised, on time, and knew exactly what needed to be done to fix our Lennox gas fireplace. He inspected, cleaned the pilot, which wasn’t staying on, then cleaned the burner as well. The service was professional and very clean, also I appreciated how he walked me through the instructions on properly using the fireplace, since I haven’t used a gas fireplace much before.

    I called to see if someone could help with our gas fireplace. Admittedly I tried turning on the pilot but had no luck. When I called I spoke to Alisa and before she even scheduled someone to come out she asked if I wanted her to walk me through it as she said there is a little trick with the brand I have. She was so patient with me and after a few attempts the pilot came on! Alisa’s main concern was to help and she saved me some money from someone coming out to tell me I am an idiot! If I ever need services performed on the fireplace I will for sure call American Chimney and Alisa!

    Still our first call when we have any problems with our fireplace. Steven is friendly, competent, and honest. Our fireplace would go out after about 30 mins and keep turning itself off and on. Steven gave it a cleaning and had to pull the entire thing out to clean out the pilot. Now it works perfectly. He had floor coverings and cleaned up before he left. Oh, and he’s also friendly and explains what he’s doing. He does take his time to make sure it is right, so he usually runs late with appointments, but let’s us know in advance.

    Hi Steve, Thank you for inspection chimneys for me! So far you are the only inspector that I know that will clean the flue and put a camera up the flue to look inside. This is most helpful for an inspection. Your cleaning that you perform is so clean that it does not dirty the room.

    Steve Lewis was a godsend. He was able to resolve a gas fireplace issue that a so called expert was unable to do after three visits! Initially, I ordered parts for my fireplace through a company in Hayward. Little did I know that they only serviced fireplaces they, themselves have installed. Fortunately, they recommended Steve Lewis. He installed the parts and now my fireplace is working beautifully. I asked Steve if he would look at my son’s fireplace in Menlo Park. Long story short, Steve was able to diagnose the problem and was able to repair the fireplace in an hour when another company made three different trips before giving up! As far as I am concerned, Steve is my go to guy for fireplace repairs.

    Steve is one of few knowledgeable fireplace technicians who is factory certified to service a Travis industry insert. I purchased the unit from a local vendor who knew little about servicing the insert. By a stroke of luck, I was able to locate Steve Lewis who is a master at servicing my unit. Additionally, Steve was the only technician who could service my son’s Lennox insert at his home. Three other companies tried and failed to properly diagnose the issue on that unit.
